Email to Myles Brand, President of the NCAA

This is my e-mail to Myles Brand, president of the NCAA (who has banned the U of I from hosting the NCAA Tennis Championship, which it has hosted for the last 7 straight years, because of the Chief)....

Why are you trying to silence Illinois' history of native Americans?  Do you want the world to forget about us and what early settlers did to us?  Would that make you feel better about yourself?  People of native American ancestry such as myself deserve a stronger voice in this debate.  What gives you the right to decide what is offensive and what isn't?  Taking away the chief would be like removing native Americans from all museums.  This is a respectful and honored tradition at our state's school, not some crazy, yelping, caricature of some scantily dressed savage.
